It's a 10-week online course that teaches you how heatwaves happen, how they affect health, infrastructure, and the economy, and what practical steps individuals, communities, and institutions can take to prepare for and respond to them. It's built by Climate Action Skills, Pakistan's online climate change academy.
Anyone concerned about rising heat in Pakistan: students, working professionals, community workers, journalists, health workers, disaster managers, urban planners, or simply residents who want to protect their families and neighborhoods. No prior climate background is needed.
No. The course is written in plain language and builds up from the basics, starting with "what is a heatwave?", before moving into more applied topics. Each module also includes real Pakistani case studies (Karachi, Lahore, Jacobabad) to make the ideas concrete.

The course is built around real Pakistani case studies throughout, including the 2015 Karachi heatwave, Lahore's urban heat patterns, and Jacobabad as one of the world's hottest cities, so the concepts are always grounded in local, practical examples.
The full program fee is Rs. 10,000, but the first 50 registrants get a 90% discount, bringing it down to Rs. 1,000. This one-time payment covers materials, certification, and full platform access for all 10 weeks. Discounted spots are confirmed only once payment is received. It's first-paid, first-served.

It's 100% self-paced for the 10 weeks of module content, plus one live introductory session at the start and one live concluding session at the end.
Since it's self-paced, you can fit it around your schedule, and most participants spend a few hours a week across the 10 weeks. The only fixed-time commitments are the two live sessions.
