The Problem
Talking about the environment is easy. Changing how people act is a different skill.
Every week, somewhere, a new environmental or climate campaign launches. Posters go up, seminars are held, social posts go out. Months later, very little has actually changed in how people understand the issue or behave differently because of it. That gap isn't because people don't care. Effective public awareness is a professional skill, not something improvised on the day of an event. It requires knowing exactly who needs to be reached, what they already believe, what needs to change, and how to design a project that gets there, and measure whether it worked.
What You'll Be Able to Do
- Explain the fundamentals of public, environmental, and climate awareness, and where each differs
- Distinguish between information, awareness, understanding, attitude and behavior change
- Identify and segment target audiences for a campaign
- Design environmental and climate awareness projects from the ground up, for a community or a government institution
- Develop project concepts, write proposals, and build a realistic budget
- Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate awareness activities, not just run them
Who This Is For
- NGO and civil society professionals designing awareness components
- Environmental and climate professionals who know the science but want stronger communication and project skills
- Development-sector staff working on programs with a public communication element
- Government officials and staff involved in public outreach
- Teachers, journalists and communicators covering environmental and climate topics
- Students, freelancers and consultants building a practical, applied skill set
Worth Knowing Before You Register
The structure is deliberate: one weekend you learn, the next weekend you're tested on it, before moving forward. This means the program asks you to actually absorb and apply each module rather than sit through it passively. It will not automatically make you a certified project manager, and it does not guarantee funding, employment or project approval. What it gives you is a practical, structured foundation for designing and running awareness work that holds up, whether it's aimed at a community, an institution or the general public.
How Registration Works
This program is 90% funded. Pre-registration is free. Once the batch is confirmed, you'll get an email asking you to secure your seat by paying the remaining 10%, Rs 1,750 of the Rs 17,500 full fee, within a set deadline. If you don't respond right away, you'll get three follow-up reminders before the deadline closes and the batch begins.
